Saudi Arabia signs first framework agreement with International Labor Organization
Saudi Arabia:
Saudi Arabia has signed its first framework
agreement with the International Labour Organization, opening new avenues for
professionals from the Kingdom to work within the UN agency.
The deal was signed during a meeting between Saudi
Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmad Sulaiman Al-Rajhi and
ILO Director-General Gilbert Houngbo at the International Labor Market
Conference in Riyadh.
The agreement establishes two pathways — the
junior professional officers program and a secondment program — that will allow
Saudis to gain international experience in labor policy and global standards.
Part of the country’s Vision 2030 strategy to
develop talent and increase Saudi representation in international organizations,
the initiative will help the Kingdom’s professionals to play a part in shaping
global labor policies.
